Northern California Electric Rate Increases for 2019: What You Need to Know.
PG&E to pursue two rate increases
By Dawn Hodson
Last Thursday PG&E filed for two rate increases with the California Public Utility Commission with one of the increases related to reducing the danger of wildfires.
The first increase is nearly $2 billion. Of that amounts, $1.1 billion would be collected in 2020 with $576 million of it going for the Community Wildfire Safety Program, $273 million toward liability insurance and $209 million for core gas and electric operations. Another $454 million would be collected in 2021 and $486 million in 2022.
